What 91 mothers told us about the mental load

Edaurora ran three studies with 91 mothers in total: the CR1 survey (n=63), the CR2 survey (n=19) and 9 in-depth interviews (CR3). The findings below are Edaurora's own data. Each figure carries its study and sample size, and figures from different studies are never combined.

The idea being explored

Edaurora is exploring an idea, not asserting a fact: that what many mothers lack is not more productivity, but the capacity to perform, decide and be present within their real emotional state. The studies below are how we are testing whether that idea matches mothers' own experience.

CR1 · survey · n=63

31.7% of mothers in Edaurora's CR1 survey (n=63) named “always running, never arriving” as their number-one pain. (Source: Edaurora CR1 survey, n=63.)

84% of the CR1 respondents who answered the question (26 of 31) said they would say yes to a solution that worked. (Source: Edaurora CR1 survey; 26 of 31 who answered this question.)

CR2 · survey · n=19

57.9% of mothers in Edaurora's CR2 survey (n=19) said guilt for not managing everything weighs most when they're at their limit — more than physical fatigue (52.6%). (Source: Edaurora CR2 survey, n=19.)

10.5% of CR2 respondents felt truly calm that day, and 47.4% had not felt calm in over a month or could not remember. (Source: Edaurora CR2 survey, n=19.)

About 63% of CR2 respondents have 30 minutes or less a day just for themselves; counting those who “can't find time”, about 74%. (Source: Edaurora CR2 survey, n=19.)

79% of CR2 respondents described their days as “between the unexpected” or “always rushing”; their average self-rated balance was 5.05 out of 10. (Source: Edaurora CR2 survey, n=19.)

CR3 · in-depth interviews · n=9

In their own words (translated from Portuguese):

“I feel like I'm always running and never arriving.”
“What tires me most is having to keep up with everything.”
“I wake up already seeing the tasks. Waking up just to do.”
“I spend the day switching roles — mother, work, wife. It drains me.”

Questions

What is Edaurora and who is it for?

Edaurora is a companion on WhatsApp for entrepreneurial mothers carrying the mental load. It helps you feel calmer, organized and guilt-free, and organizes your day around the energy you actually have today. It is not open to everyone yet; there is a waitlist.

How is it different from a productivity app, therapy, or meditation?

It is not another productivity app, and it is not therapy or meditation. It is a companion that reads your state before it reads your list.

How does it work on WhatsApp?

In the morning: breathe, name what you feel, see the day. Through the day: drop what weighs on you with a #, and it hands it back at the right moment. At night: close the day, name what you did, let go of the rest. No other app, no login, no new password.
